According to the department, statistics show that more than 50 per cent of taxpayers classified as “not operating at registered addresses” currently owe less than VNĐ1 million.
The total tax debt under the management of tax authorities is estimated at VND104 trillion (US$) as of December 31 last year, a year-on-year increase of 9.3 per cent.
Of the 268 businesses that owed the Ha Noi Government back taxes, 136
have paid up more than VND700 billion (US$32.1 million) after being
publicly named last week, according to the city tax department.
Tax from crude oil has surpassed its annual target by 18 per cent,
amounting to VND101 trillion (US$4.7 billion), as revealed at a
conference last Friday.
